About Us

For almost a century, United Automobile Services was part of everyday life in North East England. We went to school, work, shops, leisure and everywhere between on the familiar red buses, and holidayed at the seaside, London and everywhere beyond on the distinctive express coaches.

Our monthly publication The United Enthusiast vividly celebrates United and its associate companies, with club members sharing their memories and researches through lively articles, photographs, letters and other features. We also journey into the present, attending meetings and events with our club stall, and reporting the news of Arriva North East, the current successor to United.

Meetings are held at various locations, and excursions are organised from time to time to places of interest.

New members are always welcomed and we have members of all ages and from various social backgrounds, united by their common interest.
